Alcohol

Most important to avoid! Alcohol can severely damage liver cells and worsen hepatitis.

Fatty & Fried Foods

✅Examples: Fried chicken, French fries, fatty cuts of meat, pastries (Cake, buns, Akara etc.
✅These are hard for the liver to process and can increase fat buildup in the liver.

Processed Foods & Meats

✅Examples: Biscuit, sausages, canned meats, chips.
✅They often contain preservatives and high levels of salt and unhealthy fats.

Sugary Foods and Drinks

✅Examples: Carbonated drinks, candy (Sweets), cakes, sugary cereals. However, always check your sugar levels
✅Excess sugar can be converted into fat in the liver, worsening fatty liver conditions

Salty Foods

✅Examples: Instant noodles, salty snacks, frozen meals.
✅High sodium can cause fluid buildup and strain the liver.

Raw or Undercooked Shellfish

✅These can carry bacteria or viruses that are dangerous to people with liver problems.

Red Meat in Excess

✅High in saturated fats and harder for the liver to break down.

Unpasteurized Dairy Products

They may carry bacteria harmful to someone with a weakened liver.

Instead, focus on:

✅Fruits & vegetables (especially liver-friendly ones like beetroot, carrots, and leafy greens)
✅Lean proteins (e.g., fish, chicken, legumes)
✅Whole grains (e.g., brown rice, oats)
✅Plenty of water
✅Healthy fats (e.g., olive oil, avocados, honey, nuts- groundnuts, walnuts etc)
